FM: It is out duty to make contribution to natural diversity of Belarus

Representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Center for Marketing and Price Study, and family members joined the country’s annual Forest Week campaign on the national cleanup day on 20 April, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian diplomats planted more than 10,000 pine and spruce trees on an area of 1.6 hectares in Smolevichy Forestry.

“This is a good tradition, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports every year. Today, many of our counter-partners forget that diplomacy should be aimed at creation and unity. We, diplomats, are planting seedlings of peace, mutual understanding and dialogue. Therefore, it is our direct duty and responsibility to leave a green footprint and make our contribution to the environmental sustainability and natural diversity of our native Belarus,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said.

Today's event was dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Makei, who launched this good tradition at the ministry.
