Belarus' agricultural output up by 5.2% in January-July 2023

The output by all types of agricultural producers (state-run enterprises, private farms, subsidiary plots of individuals) totaled Br14 billion in January-July 2023, up by 5.2% year-on-year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee of Belarus.

State-run enterprises manufactured Br13.5 billion worth of products, up by 5.6% over the same period a year prior in comparable prices.

Agricultural producers of all types produced 1,034,000 tonnes of live weight cattle and poultry (up by 2.7% over January-July 2022), 4,868,300 tonnes of milk (up by 5.7%). State-run agricultural enterprises account for 97.4% of livestock and poultry production (in live weight), 97.8% of milk and 83.2% of egg production.

As of 1 August 2023 agricultural enterprises had 4.2 million head of cattle (up by 1.6% year-on-year), including 1.4 million cows (up by 0.1%). The number of pigs stood at 2.4 million, up by 0.8% year-on-year.
