Gomel hosts BelTA photo exhibition timed to 65th anniversary of Great Victory |

GOMEL, 11 March (BelTA) – BelTA’s photo exhibition “The Winners” opened in the Gavriil Vashchenko Gallery of Gomel on 11 March, BelTA has learnt.
The exposition features more than 70 large-format pictures timed to the 65th anniversary of Great Victory. In the photo you can see participants of the Great Patriotic War.
Grigory Denisenko, the Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary Citizen of Gomel and the Gomel Oblast, took part in the opening ceremony of the BelTA photo exhibition.  |

Gomel Oblast, Vysocina Region to develop cooperation |

GOMEL, 24 February (BelTA) – The Gomel Oblast of Belarus and the Vysocina Region of the Czech Republic will develop partnership relations between their towns. The agreement on this was reached during a meeting of Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Boleslav Pirshtuk and Honorary Consul of Belarus to the Czech Republic Irzi Krzivan, BelTA has learnt.
The town of Trebic may become the first Czech town which will establish the partnership relations.  |

France intends to develop economic cooperation with Gomel oblast |

GOMEL, 23 February (BelTA) – France intends to develop economic cooperation with the Gomel oblast, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Belarus Michel Raineri told reporters in Gomel on 23 February. The French Ambassador is in the Gomel oblast on a visit on 22-23 February.
There is a big potential for such cooperation, says Michel Raineri. The Ambassador stressed that the working visit to the Gomel oblast is his first trip to Belarusian regions, as the oblast is the area of many joint projects.  |

French experts to visit Bragin region |

MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – A French delegation that includes Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Belarus Michel Raineri, are set tour of the Belarusian regions that were affected by the Chernobyl accident, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of France in Belarus on 18 February.
On 22 February Michel Raineri together with experts, who study and share their experience in a long-term rehabilitation after the Chernobyl disaster, will travel to the Bragin region.  |

Belarusian Railways to launch new service between Gomel and Murmansk |

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian Railways is planning to launch a new service between Gomel and Murmansk, BelTA learnt from Andrei Kashko, chief of the railway passenger service department of the Belarusian Railways.
The launch of the new service connecting Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk and Murmansk is scheduled for summer this year. This service will be available all-the-year-round. It will be running twice a week, Andrei Kashko said.  |

Gomselmash expands dealership chain in 2009 |

GOMEL, 8 February (BelTA) – In 2009 the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash set up seven dealerships in Russia, Gomselmash Deputy Director General for Quality Valentin Mishchenko told BelTA.
At present the company’s overseas dealership network includes 68 dealerships in 12 countries in addition to 18 dealerships in Belarus provinces.
The dealerships are set up in Russia, Ukraine, China, Czechia, Bulgaria and several other countries mainly with a view to boosting Gomselmash sales.  |

Gomel oblast to step up export to Moldova |

CHISINAU, 2 February (BelTA) – companies of the Gomel oblast took part in the Made in Moldova exhibition. Belarusian producers found new partners to promote products to the Moldovan market, BelTA learnt from counselor for trade and economic issues of the Embassy of Belarus in Moldova Dmitry Samusevich.
For instance, the Gomel distillery will launch the deliveries of alcohol products to Moldova while the Kalinkovichi meat-packing plant is looking to start exporting canned meat.  |

In 2009 Gomel oblast develops partnership with investors from 27 countries |

GOMEL, 1 February (BelTA) – Investors from 27 countries provided their finances and technologies to the companies of the Gomel oblast in 2009, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the Gomel oblast executive committee.
Most active were investors from Austria, Russia, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland and other countries. Investment momentum was preserved by the organizations of all forms of ownership.  |

Gomel Governor urges to improve quality of goods |

GOMEL, 29 January (BelTA) – The main goal of the economy of the Gomel oblast in 2010 is to improve the quality of the goods produced in the region, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Yakobson told reporters in Gomel on 29 January.
During the Year of Quality, the region intends to tighten control over the quality of goods. It will enhance the prestige of Belarus in the world as 74% of the goods produced in the Gomel oblast are exported, the Governor underscored.  |

Gomelkhlebprom to export gingerbread to Canada |

GOMEL, 5 January (BelTA) – Gomelkhlebprom plans to export a wide assortment of gingerbread to Canada in 2010, BelTA learnt from the company’s director general Natalia Veromeyeva.
The two sides have signed a contract on the delivery of the first consignment of gingerbread. The assortment is expected to enlarge in the future.
According to Natalia Veromeyeva, Gomel started exporting several varieties of bakery products to that country in 2007.  |
